January 9, 20204 Reasons for Window Film
Window film is chosen for a variety of reasons. Each person has their own reasons for having window tint installed. Some are quite easy to grasp, others are much more complex as I will explain below. The benefits are many, but for this article I have 4 to focus on. I do want to encourage you to ask questions of your window film professional. They should be willing and able to education you on the what, whens, and hows. Another topic they should inform you of is what the legal limit is in your state. All states have their own VLT ( visual light transmission) limits. Basically, this means how dark can the tint legally be.
Looks Good
Freshly installed window film is a dramatic way to upgrade the appearance of your vehicle. The darker windows give it a sleek look. Obviously, there are ways to make a more major or dramatic change to your ride, but for the cost of professionally installed window film it is a huge bang for your buck.
- Paint jobs
- Vinyl wraps
- Engine upgrades
These are all examples of significant changes, but they are extremely costly. Most of these upgrades will get into the thousands of dollars by the end of the project.
For a few hundred dollars ( final pricing will depend greatly on the line of film you go with) your ride will have a dramatic and noticeable upgrade.
Privacy
It is comforting to know that strangers can’t openly see what you may have in your vehicle. Who doesn’t like knowing that
Safety
Safety from window film is something that is commonly overlooked. Or, a consumer may have a different type of safety in mind. Glass can shatter into many pieces during a collision. Consumers may immediately think of UV rejection for health reasons. But, anyone who has ever been sprayed with shards of glass during an accident will attest to this benefit.
UV Rejection
Ask anyone who has ever been diagnosed with skin cancer! Any harmful UV rays that can be rejected, should be rejected. UV rejection is achieved with window film by the absorption of rays by the film. Thus, eliminated them before they reach the occupants of the vehicle. With the benefit of modern technology and latest advancements in the film industry, many films will reject nearly 99% of harmful UV rays.
