Scorpion Window Film Architectural Warranty Coverage

Scorpion Window Film offers a comprehensive limited architectural warranty that protects property owners against manufacturing defects when an authorized dealer professionally installs films. As a trusted window film company, we stand behind our products with clearly defined coverage terms, duration periods, and straightforward claim procedures.

This warranty applies to qualifying Scorpion Window Film architectural products used in approved flat glass applications.

General Warranty Statement & Coverage

Scorpion warrants all Scorpion window tint Architectural Series window films against manufacturing defects, including peeling, bubbling, rippling, cracking, adhesive failure, delamination, and demetallization.

This limited warranty applies only to films that are:

Approved by the manufacturer for flat glass applications
Installed by an authorized Scorpion Window Film installer
Applied according to the current Film-to-Glass Application Chart at the time of installation

Warranty coverage begins upon completion of installation and applies only to the original purchaser. This warranty is non-transferable. Rental properties are classified as commercial installations.

Scorpion’s responsibility is limited to the replacement of defective scorpion film material and reasonable reinstallation labor. Replacement does not extend the original warranty duration.

Warranty Limitations & Disclaimer

There are no warranties beyond those expressly stated herein. This limited warranty replaces all other express or implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.

Scorpion Window Film is not liable for incidental or consequential damages. Warranty coverage is void if the film has been subjected to abuse, misuse, improper care, or poor installation.

This warranty provides specific legal rights that may vary by state.

How to Submit a Warranty Claim

To submit a valid warranty claim, the original purchaser must provide:

  • A copy of the original sales receipt
  • A fully completed warranty form, including roll lot numbers

Claims must be registered with the Scorpion Window Film Warranty Department within 60 days of installation completion. The warranty form must be signed by both the customer and the authorized dealer.

Claims may be submitted through the installing dealer or directly to Scorpion Window Film. Failure to submit required documentation may result in claim denial.

Glass Breakage & Seal Failure Limited Warranty

Not all Scorpion Window Film products qualify for coverage against glass breakage or seal failure. Certain films may increase heat absorption depending on glass type, potentially leading to thermal stress.

Coverage is provided only for approved glass and film combinations listed in the Film-to-Glass Application Chart. Buildings with a prior history of thermal stress-related glass failure are not eligible for coverage.

Scorpion Window Film reserves the right to remove installed film and reimburse the original installation cost if multiple claims occur on the same project.

Limited Glass Breakage Warranty

If glass breakage occurs due to thermal stress, Scorpion Window Film may inspect the affected windows before approving the claim.

Approved claims may include reimbursement for glass replacement up to $500 per window.

Seal Failure on Dual-Pane Units

For approved dual-pane installations, Scorpion Window Film provides seal failure coverage for the shorter of:

  • The original window manufacturer’s seal warranty, or
  • The warranty period is listed in the duration chart

Approved claims may include reimbursement for the replacement of insulated glass up to $500 per unit.

Important Notice Regarding Glass Replacement

Glass must not be replaced before inspection unless immediate replacement is required for safety reasons. If replacement is unavoidable, clear photographic evidence of breakage or seal failure must be submitted with the original warranty documentation.

Failure to follow this process will void warranty coverage.

Prohibited Applications

Warranty coverage does not apply to:

  • Multiple films applied to a single pane
  • Partial window coverage
  • Exterior installations, unless specifically approved
  • Damaged, textured, or pre-failed glass
  • Triple-pane or suspended film systems

Architectural Window Film Warranty Duration Periods

All warranty periods apply to interior installations only, unless otherwise specified.
