Scorpion Window Film Brickyard Weekend 2018

Scorpion Brickyard Weekend 2018

Cloverdale, Indiana

Scorpion Protective Coatings wrapped up its annual Brickyard Weekend festivities.  Surviving Mother Nature was a challenge as it rained Friday, Saturday, and Sunday postponing the Brickyard 400 until Monday.  The Nascar and Xfinity Drivers all dealt with the uncertainty of the weekend as well.  The schedules continued to change and bump according to the weather.

Saturday at Scorpion HQ

Many of our customers are coming to Indiana for the first time during this weekend.  We offer those that wish, the opportunity to visit Scorpion HQ and to visit with the team.  This year was unique in that our SEMA project is currently underway at our office, so they were able to get a preview of the Scorpion     E-XO1 SEMA project.

Saturday evening Awards Banquet

The Brickyard

Being from Indianapolis, we might be biased, Indianapolis Motor Speedway is one of the most recognizable sports cathedrals in the world.  The sheer size is amazing.  (Vatican City, Churchill Downs, Liberty Island, Rose Bowl Stadium, Roman Colosseum, The White House, Taj Mahal, and Yankee Stadium can all fit inside IMS!!!)

Rain was the theme again as we waited patiently for updates from IMS personnel and Nascar.  The Schedule changed several times before finally being announced that the race could not be completed before darkness set in.  After a morning appearance from Ty Dillon, driver of the #13 Germain Racing car, food and beverage was available as we waited in the suite.  Ultimately, the race was postponed until Monday and our guests and Team Scorpion had what amounted to an indoor party at IMS.

The Brickyard Part # 2

With most people having booked travel months ago, the race on Monday wasn’t an option.  Several did stick around for what turned out to be a beautiful day to race.  They got to see both the Xfinity Race and Cup Race back to back.  Ty crashed out early in the Xfinity Race and came home in 21st in the Cup Race.  With so few guests on hand, we were able to escort many into the pits during the Cup Race and allow them to sit in the Germain Racing Strategist box.

With all the ups and downs Mother Nature threw at us, the feedback from our guests were amazing.  This event continues to be a must attend event that our customers look forward to and will plan months in advance.
