What is Window Film

Window film is constructed from polyester.  Ultimately, the film is designed to protect you against harmful UV rays. But it does offer numerous other benefits.

Many people think of window film and the first thought is blackout film seen on limousines.  It offers total privacy and is the darkest VLT (visual light transmission) available.  While it looks great, that type of tint is illegal on private vehicles.  Any professional window tint installer should be familiar with local tint laws and how they are enforced.  They will explain the VLT and how lower numbers means darker film.

Other Types of Film

Of course we know about automotive window film, but there are other applications.  It is used in commercial, residential and industrial settings.  I can be used to fight morning glare in a work space or creating comfort in the living room.  Areas prone to severe weather may use it as an additional safety measure.
