National Window Film Day

We are happy to announce that April 30th is National Window Film Day!   According to the IWFA (International Window Film Association), “April 30th is the perfect opportunity to learn everything you need to know about a cost-effective solution for saving energy, protecting skin and home décor from the sun’s damaging UV rays and window safety”.

IWFA’s main goal is to increase consumer awareness and demand for professionally-installed window film products.  In honor of National Window Film Day, we want to stress the importance of installing this wonderful product on your home, business, and/or vehicles.

UV Protection

The memo has been out for some time regarding the harmful effects of UV rays, so what are you doing to keep yourself and your loved ones safe?  If your answer is sunscreen, long sleeves, and a hat, that’s always a good place to start – but what about when you’re inside your home, business, or driving around in your car?  After all, you don’t magically become immune to the effects of UV rays when you’re behind the wheel or spending time inside your home or office during the day.

Did you know that besides skin cancer, UV rays can cause cataracts, premature aging of the skin, and can also suppress the immune system?  And, according to www.skincancer.org, staying in the shade is no longer enough:

“While shade is a potentially valuable means of protection from the damaging effects of the sun’s ultraviolet (UV) rays, not all shade is equally protective. People can spend long hours in the shade while still receiving quite a lot of sun exposure and risking skin damage. This is because UVB rays, often considered the most harmful part of sunlight, can reach the skin indirectly.”

In addition to skin, UV rays can also wreak havoc on our possessions. Items such as carpet, furniture, clothing, and electronics that are regularly exposed to UV rays can fade and become damaged over time. Though putting up blinds in our homes and businesses and sunshades in our cars can help, these methods do not truly offer the amount of protection you and your items need to stay safe.

I guess what we’re trying to say is, you can try to run from the sun, but you can’t hide! … unless you install Scorpion window film.  All of our automotive and architectural window film blocks up to 99% of harmful UV Rays.  Celebrate National Window Film Day by getting protective window film installed where you need it most.  Check out our awesome line of automotive and architectural window film today!
